Thanbyuzayat police seized drugs from underage of two boys in Weng Rai village, last Saturday.
Deputy Chief of Police Kyaw Nine said, “48 [meth] pills were seized from two young boys’ riding their bikes when we were patrolling. This case is being prosecuted under the law.”
The boys aged 16 and 17 live in the Hantharwadi Ward, in Thanbyuzayat Town and have been charged under section 19(K)/21 of Criminal Procedure Code MY(P)8/2021.
One of the retired headmasters in Thanbyuzayat, U San Thaung said, “Drug seizures protect people from the danger of drugs. This is the right thing to do and the public should participate with each other. The police and people should work together to reduce the danger of drugs.”
In other drug cases, 96 illegal pills were seized from an individual in Thein Khong ward, Mudon 4 ward on the evening of January 23. 275 illegal pills and 0.4 g of ICE were seized from a young boy in Ka Don Si village in Chaunghanakwa- Yathanar, Kyaikmaraw Township, on January 19.
