MSRF Reports Three Consecutive Days of Attacks on Junta Forces in Ye and Thanbyuzayat

-

The Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) said it carried out three consecutive days of attacks against junta forces, including a police station and advancing military columns, in Ye and Thanbyuzayat townships, Mon State.

According to a statement released by the Mon State Revolutionary Force, on February 21 a joint drone unit that includes MSRF dropped two bombs on the junta police station in Anin Village, Thanbyuzayat Township. The statement did not provide details on possible casualties.

On February 22 and 23, allied revolutionary forces reportedly launched guerrilla attacks against a junta column of approximately 150 troops advancing into Ye Township. Clashes occurred near Hnit Ka Rin Village and Aungthapyay Village and were described as intense.

MSRF spokesperson Mi Tala Nyan told IMNA that fighting near Aungthapyay Village lasted about 45 minutes. She said junta troops responded with significant reinforcements and heavy weapons, including mortar fire.

“The column was divided into two units, with one positioned in concealment. Fighting erupted after allied forces engaged their initial target. We also received information that snipers were included in the column,” she said.

The statement said five junta soldiers were killed during the clashes. Two MSRF members were also reported killed.

Forces involved in the joint operation included MSRF, the Ye People’s Defense Force (YPDF), the Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF), Battalion 27, Company 1 of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Tactics 33 (Dona Column), and the Tabinshwehti Force.

Since early 2026, junta forces have intensified operations in northern Ye Township and along the Ye–Thanbyuzayat border area, resulting in frequent clashes with allied revolutionary groups.
