Four soldiers from the military junta were killed and weapons were seized during a clash with the Ye Blue Group in Kyaung Ywar Village, Ye Township, Mon State, on February 22, according to a statement released by the resistance group.
The fighting occurred at around 8:00 a.m. when a seven-member patrol from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 591, based in Kyaung Ywar Village, left its base. The Ye Blue Group said it ambushed the patrol approximately 100 meters from the battalion headquarters, leading to a firefight that lasted about 30 minutes.

The group reported that four junta soldiers were killed, including Second Lieutenant Win Soe. Weapons and ammunition were also seized during the clash.
“We intercepted a patrol unit of seven soldiers from Battalion 591 about 100 meters from their base. We were able to eliminate several troops, including Second Lieutenant Win Soe,” the group said in a statement posted on social media.
Items seized included one MA-3 rifle, three magazines, and 100 rounds of ammunition.
The Ye Blue Group said its members withdrew without casualties. However, during the exchange of fire, troops from LIB 591 allegedly fired mortar shells indiscriminately from their base, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to two others.
The Independent Mon News Agency (IMNA) is continuing to seek independent confirmation regarding the reported civilian casualties.
Earlier, on February 16th, the Ye Blue Group stated that it had captured a junta soldier who had fled from LIB 591.
