The Ye Blue armed group has detained a young Mon man who was serving under Ayutaung administrator Linn Oo, according to a Ye Blue official.
The man, who was permitted to carry a weapon as part of his duties, was arrested on October 20 near a plantation close to Taungzon village while allegedly gathering intelligence on resistance forces. He is now being questioned by Ye Blue members.
Although he was unarmed at the time of arrest, Ye Blue said the detainee had previously served as an armed guard and office assistant under Linn Oo’s command.

“He said he had only been serving for about a month, but that doesn’t seem true. According to our information, he’s been working as a junta soldier for around six months. Normally, any soldier allowed to carry a gun must complete at least two months of training. It’s impossible to believe he received a weapon after only one month,” said a Ye Blue leader.
The detained youth, aged 21, is a resident of Ayutaung village. Ye Blue stated that the man will remain in custody while investigations continue, and that further action will depend on the findings.
“How we proceed will depend on his offenses. For now, he is being held, and we will act according to instructions from our higher leaders,” the official added.
In July, Ye Blue also detained three soldiers who had deserted from the junta’s Operation Command Headquarters No. (19) in Ye Township for investigation.
The Ye Blue armed group frequently targets junta forces operating in Ye Township, including attacks on administrative offices, police stations, and security checkpoints.
In November 2024, Ye Blue launched an attack on the Ayutaung administrator’s office, leaving Administrator Linn Oo seriously injured. He later received treatment at Ye District Hospital and the junta’s Operation Command Headquarters No. (19) and recovered.
Currently, Linn Oo continues to serve as the village administrator and Pyusawhti militia leader in Ayutaung, where junta troops are reported to move in and out regularly, according to local residents.
