Military Junta to Begin General Election on December 28

The military junta will begin holding its general election on December 28, according to an announcement from the Union Election Commission (UEC) on August 18.

The UEC stated that the election will be conducted in phases, with the first phase scheduled for Sunday, December 28. Dates for subsequent phases will be announced later.

On August 15, the UEC had already released the constituencies included in the election, covering the Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, State and Regional Hluttaw, as well as constituencies for ethnic nationality representatives.
