A military junta jet fighter launched an airstrike on Minsaw Village, located in Bilin Township, Mon State, around noon on July 10, damaging a school and several civilian homes, according to local sources.
The Karen National Union (KNU) reported that the junta dropped two 500-pound bombs on Minsaw Village at approximately 11:02 a.m. and 11:07 a.m. during a double air raid.
One of the bombs struck the local school compound, destroying two newly constructed school buildings. In addition, two civilian homes were also damaged, and three chickens were killed by shrapnel from the blast.
This is not the first time the village has been targeted. On March 23, 2024, the same school in Minsaw Village was bombed with a 500-pound explosive. Again, on April 19, 2025, the military carried out another airstrike using 500-pound bombs on the village’s monastery.
The KNU stated that the military junta continues to carry out frequent aerial bombings and artillery shelling in Thaton District, targeting civilian infrastructure across Bilin, Kyaikto, and Thaton Townships. Schools, monasteries, and homes in rural villages have been repeatedly hit.
As a result of these ongoing military offensives, numerous civilian casualties and widespread destruction of residential areas, educational facilities, and religious sites have been reported.
