Mon National College (MNC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chiang Rai Rajabhat University (CRRU) in Thailand to collaborate on higher education programs, according to information released on May 23.
The partnership is based on a “2+2” agreement”, allowing MNC students to study for two years at Mon National College and then continue for another two years at CRRU to earn a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.

Officials from CRRU, including university administrators, attended the signing ceremony. Also present were MNC principal Dr. Panya Mon, Social Science Department Head Nai Myint Than, and several MNC alumni currently studying at Payap University (PU) in Thailand.
Initially, the agreement applies only to MNC students specializing in Social Science, granting them the opportunity to further their studies at CRRU under this program.
“This partnership is mainly for the 2+2 education program. CRRU has shown great interest, and compared to other universities, their tuition fees are more affordable. If this collaboration goes smoothly, MNC students will be able to attend CRRU on their own budget,” said Nai Myint Than, head of MNC’s Social Science Department.
Mon National College is also exploring opportunities to expand this collaboration to other academic disciplines at CRRU.
In addition, MNC principal Dr. Panya Mon revealed that the college has held talks with Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Bangkok and Indiana Tech University in the United States to sign similar MOUs in the near future.
These international partnerships aim to increase educational opportunities for students and strengthen academic collaboration between Mon institutions and global educational networks.
