During the battle to capture the military junta’s Hali Gui camp near Maung Mae Shaung village, located along Union Highway No. 8 between Ye and Dawei in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, one battalion commander was killed and 16 others were captured alive, according to the Duraka Column.
Revolutionary forces launched the attack on Hali Gui camp around 6 a.m. on April 26.

“We captured the entire base, but it was quite a battle. They put up strong resistance. Eventually, they surrendered because they ran out of ammunition and couldn’t resupply. They held out the whole day because their allied forces were nearby. They waited, expecting to be rescued, but their allies just watched and didn’t intervene. There was heavy fighting even among themselves, and their unity seemed to collapse,” said a spokesperson from the Duraka Column.
It was reported that during the clash, junta forces fired heavy artillery and launched airstrikes.
In the battle at Hali Gui base, one major was killed and 16 soldiers were captured alive.
“We captured 16 people alive. Among them was a major from the medical unit. Another major from the rapid response force was wounded. Since their reinforcement troops were nearby, they expected help, but no one came. Eventually, his comrades had to end his life themselves. After that, the rest fled. Some managed to escape, but in total, about 20 enemy soldiers were either killed or captured. We captured 16 alive, and they had already agreed to surrender their weapons,” the spokesperson explained.
Additionally, the resistance forces seized nine MA1 rifles, one MA2 rifle, six MA3 rifles, one MA4 rifle, one MA11 rifle, one BA100 rifle, and other related equipment.
The operation was carried out by the Duraka military unit in coordination with several other groups, including the Ye-Pyu People’s Defence Force (YPPDF), Company 5 of Battalion 12 from the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 4, the Ou-O military unit, Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force (DGRF), Tavoy People’s Liberation Force (TPLF), Dawna Company 7, Sky Ghost Drone Force, Federal Polar Star Force, and the Eastern Forest People’s Defence Force.
Revolutionary groups in the Tanintharyi Region have urged civilians to remain extremely cautious and limit movement, warning that the junta may retaliate with airstrikes at any time.
