The Mon Literature and Culture Association is committed to advancing Mon literature and organizing ongoing educational sessions to ensure the continuous learning and preservation of the Mon language.
On January 17th, the Mon Literature and Culture Association, in collaboration with Technological University (Mawlamyine), conducted examinations for the first-level Mon language and Mon translation courses.
In August, during the 40th-anniversary celebration of the Mon Literature and Culture Association at Technological University (Mawlamyine), students who successfully pass the first-level Mon language and Mon translation course exams will be honored and awarded prizes.
The Mon Literature and Culture Association conducts Mon language courses, including first-level Mon classes and Mon translation courses, once a year, typically in January or July.
“Previously, we offered two courses: first-level Mon language and translation classes. Last year, due to limited time, we could only provide brief instruction. This year, we reopened the first-level class to encourage more students, and we are teaching it in the first semester—unlike last year, when I taught in the second semester,” said a representative from the Mon Literature and Culture Association.
Additionally, the association has been actively involved in cultural performances for Mon National Day and has consistently supported Mon refugees.
The basic Mon language and Mon translation courses were successfully launched in July 2024, with another session held in January 2025.
Between 1984 and 1985, the Mon Literature and Culture Association at Mawlamyine University conducted Mon language instruction at the former school in Rogo village. Additionally, in the 2018–2019 academic year, the association was granted the opportunity to teach at Technological University (Mawlamyine).
