An airstrike by Myanmar’s military junta on Kawhel village and nearby areas in Bilin Township, Mon State, injured five civilians and destroyed nine homes, according to the Karen National Union (KNU).

The attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. on February 15, with bombs hitting residential areas and damaging civilian property. Local sources reported that the injured civilians are receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Despite no active clashes in the region, the military junta has intensified airstrikes in Thaton District, according to the KNU. On February 13, two airstrikes targeted Kawkat village in Kyaikhto Township—one at noon and another around 4:00 p.m.—damaging school buildings in the area.
On February 13, at approximately 10:20 a.m., the junta launched an airstrike on a monastery and its surroundings in Peinhnekone village, Kyaikhto Township. The attack killed three civilians, injured more than 10 others, and caused significant damage to the monastery, the KNU reported.
The KNU accused the military junta of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, including village schools, Christian churches, monasteries, pagodas, and homes, as part of its ongoing airstrike campaign.
