-

The New Mon State Party – Anti-Military Dictatorship (NMSP-AD) has claimed responsibility for two drone attacks in Kyaikmarraw Township, Mon State, resulting in the deaths of six military junta soldiers and injuries to five others.

According to the NMSP-AD’s statement, the first attack occurred on January 10, targeting a police station in Kadar village. The drone strike reportedly killed five soldiers and injured three.

On January 12, the NMSP-AD launched a second drone attack on a police station in Taungkalay village. The attack left one junta soldier dead and another injured.

The NMSP-AD, a breakaway faction of the New Mon State Party, declared its opposition to the military junta on February 14, 2024, vowing to continue armed resistance. The group has since collaborated with other revolutionary forces and conducted military operations not only in Mon State but also in Kayin State and Tanintharyi Region.
