According to a statement by the Ye Blue group, three soldiers were killed, and several others injured when a military junta vehicle from Infantry Battalion 343, based in Ahryutaung Village, was ambushed on Road No. 8 in Ye Township, Mon State.
The ambush occurred around 9:00 a.m. on December 3, when the Ye Blue group attacked a vehicle carrying soldiers from Infantry Battalion 343 of the military junta as it was passing through Sonnantthar Village in Ye Township.
The military junta forces returned fire, injuring one soldier from the Ye Blue group in the foot. However, the injured soldier managed to retreat safely, according to the group.
Following the ambush, the military junta’s rapid-response battalions, including Infantry Battalions 586, 343, and 587, based in Ye Township, retaliated by firing mortar shells.
Since the military coup, military junta convoys along the Thanphyuzayat-Ye Road (No. 8) have frequently been targeted by mine attacks. Meanwhile, forces from the Resistance Alliance have assumed control of road security, conducting inspections and searches.
