Two People Seriously Injured in Bomb Blast in Mudon Township

Two people were seriously injured in a bomb blast that occured at the Kaung Htet Copy Shop, on Maw Than Road in Mudon township.

The bomb was detonated just after 2:50 p.m. on May 22. 

The shop owner, Aung Myint and another person, were seriously injured in the blast. Both victims were taken to Mawlamyine Public Hospital for treatment.

Aung Myint, is a retired schoolteacher and a Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) parliamentary candidate.

The Mudon People Defense Force, based in Mon State, released a statement claiming responsibility for the bombing, claiming the USDP is providing information to the State Administrative Council (SAC).
