An Administrator of Chaungzon village located near Three Pagodas Township on the Thai-Burmese border was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on the morning of December 6.

“I heard he was shot in front of his house. Now we are going to check it,” said Aung Thu, a Police Chief from the Three Pagodas Police Station.
Zaw Myo Aung was at his home when he was shot dead by two unidentified men on motorcycles who fired three shots in front of his house at 9 am of December 6.
The army and police arrived after the killing to investigate.
Other murders of Administrators have taken place since the February 1 coup. U Kyaw Zin Min, the Administrator of Ward 4 in Three Pagodas Township, was shot dead by two unidentified men on a motorcycle on May 19.
Khine Win, Chair of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in Three Pagodas Township, was also shot dead by two unidentified men on a motorcycle on the morning of July 18, while he was at a coffee shop.
At least six proponents of the military have been killed in shooting incidents in and around Three Pagodas town since the military coup.
