Students attending Mon National Schools operating under the Mon National Education Committee (MNEC) in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township and Karen State’s Kyarinnseikkyi Township have received their Covid-19 vaccinations.

“The students from Mon national schools in Yebyu and Kyarinnseikkyi Townships have received their first dose of the vaccine. There are Mon schools in 6 townships in Mon State. We sent a list of those still needing vaccination, but the shots have not arrived yet. We are waiting for it,” said Mi Khet Non.
The State level Covid-19 Prevention Committee has the responsibility to release vaccine doses. An official from the Mon State Education department responded saying,
“We will check the list sent to us and then present it to the state level COVID-19 prevention committee. And, we will follow the prevention committee’s decision.”
More than 2,500 students attend Mon National Schools in Mon State.
