The Myanmar Police Force provides law enforcement knowledge and related services to the public, and the public is encouraged to be cooperative and report drug-related issues to the police directly or indirectly, he added.

“When it comes to drug-related issues, not only police [are involved]. The family member has to be aware that if a [person] is using drugs, then we need to make [him/her] quit it according to the new law. We need everyone from family members to community people to help each other,” said Daw Khine Khine Leh, Hluttaw representative of Thaton Township Constituency (1).

According to a Mon State Police Force report, there were 327 drug cases from the 1st of January to September 25th of 2019. There were approximately 434 drug-related cases dealt with in 2018.
