World Peace Summit, which is organized by a Korean NGO, Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL) and other international peace institutions, has been held in Inchoen, the coastal city of Republic of Korea (South Korea), from 16th to 19th September 2018, and many hundreds of world leaders, religious leaders, civil society leaders, youth and women leaders and the heads of media agencies join in to seek a global peace to ensure for the supports of Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).
Among over 1000 representatives around the world, Burma News International sends a media representative, Nai Kasauh Mon, former Executive Director of BNI and Chief Editor of Mon News Agency, to attend world peace event to join in the summit along with representatives of media round the world.
According to Nai Kasauh Mon, “this is the event organized by HWPL and the peace institutions, and the main purpose of the event are the gathering of world leaders and to have supports from the people around the world for their proposed Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW). The World Peace Summit is held with the participants from political, religious, youths, women, society and the media”.
Nai Kasauh Mon, said that the HWPL organizers have invited BNI, as media representative from Burma/Myanmar to attend the world event since two months ago and they have supported for transportation and accommodation during the event.
In the opening ceremony of the first day of Goseone Peace Conference, HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee, said that, “since we get the supports from the world including various agreement, supporting letters, and participation, I believed the declaration of peace can proceed to build better future”.
In the first day of event on 16th September, the HWPL organized a Goseong Peace Conference, HWPL and world leaders from 23 different countries ensured on the peace concepts via peace education, coordination, and adopted a cooperative measure to develop Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW). The event is willing to get wider coordination by international community to propose the United Nations (UN) to adopt peace declaration and cessation of war.
HWPL also extended their discussions with the global leaders to increase cooperative measurement to achieve peaceful unification of the Korea Peninsula. The single ethnic of Korean people has been divided into two countries in the Koren Peninsula, since the end of Korea war in 1953.
Over 400 leaders around the world from Asia (Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia), Eastern Europe, Africa and North America have joined in the Summit, and build the cooperation.
HWPL organized five-days conference of World Peace Summit, includes the Global Conference for the UN Adoption of DPCW, the Conference of 4th Annual Commemoration of 4th Annual World Alliance on Religious Peace Summit, Peace Education Development Forum, 2nd Conference for the Global Peace Media Network, and the Forum on the Role of the Youth for Sustainable Peace.
