Alleged drug dealers arrested in Ye Tsp

Drug dealers were arrested and more than 580 methamphetamine tablets confiscated in Ye Township, according to incident reports from the Ye Township Police Force.

At 6 AM last Saturday, police seized 589 “WY” tablets from Ma Nilar Oo after stopping her motorbike on a bridge in the Ye-Chaung Taung area of Chaung Taung Village, southern Ye Township. The pills were reportedly enclosed in three small plastic bags found in the woman’s handbag.

The report indicated that police questioned Ma Nilar Oo and identified Daw Cho Yee Oo as the seller of the confiscated pills. Around 8:30 AM, that morning,the police went to Daw Cho Yee Oo’s home in Zin Guu Village where they reportedly seized 46 “WY” tablets, paraphernalia including two smoking pipes, two mobile phones, and 2,900,000 Kyat.

Three young men were also arrested for their alleged connection to the two women’s drug activities. The five detainees were charged with section 15/19 (A) and 20(A)/21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

On the evening of February 6, police reportedly seized 57 methamphetamine pills, including “WY” and “R” tablets, at Chan Thee’s house in Wae-noi Village of the Taung Bone Village Tract, Lamine Sub-township, northern Ye Township. Alleged profits from drug sales totaling 300,000 Kyat were also confiscated from the home, according to the Lamine Town Police Station. Chan Tee was to be charged with section 15/19 (A)/20 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
