Tala Mon Co. Ltd Chosen to Construct Museum and Park of Thanbyuzayat’s Death Railway

-

Tala Mon Co. Ltd has been chosen by Mon State’s Civil Development Committee to construct a museum and park of the death railway of Thanbyuzayat Town, Mon State, according to the State Civil Development Committee.

According to Dr. Toe Toe Aung, Minister of Mon State Civil Development, the Tala Mon company was offered the proposal to construct a railway museum, gift shops, restaurants, bus station, hotel, swimming pool, and reception hall for wedding ceremonies and other activities.

“We now have to negotiate with them [Tala Mon], as to whether they can complete the projects as stated in the proposal. [The proposal] only calls for how much the value is, the time schedule is not included,” said Dr. Toe Toe Aung.

According to the Minister, the Mon State Civil Development Committee released a proposal on October 15th for the construction of a railway museum and park by a Thanbyuzayat Township civil development group. On November 10th, the proposal analysis group informed the Tala Mon Co. Ltd about the proposal.

“The government will join in share of land value, and we will join with the expense costs. When we do so, it will result in specific percent holdings for Tala Chan and for the government. Just like that, we will do this [project],” said Min Banyar San, Chairman of Tala Mon Co. Ltd.

According to the proposal advertisement, after the chosen company completes construction, the Thanbyuzayat Township Civil Development group will be involved in land value share, and will gain benefits in cooperating with the project.

“It [the project] is divided into two parts. One part will include a railway and museum facility. Next to that, a high standard hotel and shop will be constructed. It is just one area, but will be divided into two; one for museum facility and another for the shopping center. The priority is for the museum, and the remaining part will be of secondary priority,” said Dr. Toe Toe Aung.

Of the 6.61 acres allotted for construction of the railway museum and park area, 2.5 acres will be used for railway museum construction, 1.66 acres will be used for construction of the shopping area, including stalls and shops, restaurants, and a bus station, while the remaining 2.45 acres will be used for the hotels, swimming pool, and reception hall.
