According to Ko Win Cho, the Pa-nga Village administrator, “Witness U Pan came to tell me that he heard something like the sound of thunder or fireworks, and then a piece of metal fell down. I reported it to the Township Security. When the [security authorities] came to examine [the scene], they found metal similar to cast iron.”

The metal fragment found in Pa-nga Village was 2.8 ft. long, 8 inches wide, and weighed 4 lbs., according to the November 24 publication of state-run newspaper Myanmar Ahlin.

The article also reported that an unidentified grey metal sphere measuring 47 inches in diameter was found in Kyuon-Kan Lake of Wae-Kali Village, 5 miles east of Pa-nga Village, and was removed by local security authorities.

Residents of An-khe Village, about 4 miles south of Pa-nga Village, reported hearing similar sounds of firework blasts or thunder, but no strange materials were found in the area.

According to a Myawaddy Facebook forum post last Saturday, another piece of metal was found in a rubber plantation belonging to U San Thein, east of War-bo Taung Village in Thanbyuzayat Township. The metal shape was 8 inches long and looked similar to a chopping hoe, with 4 small holes.

A clerk from the Thanbyuzayat Township general administration office said, “I heard that the same sounds occurred in Kyuon Khun Village and Par-pya Village in southern Thanbyuzayat Township. First, we thought the sound was made by a plane blowing up in the sky. The respective local authorities searched the whole day, but found nothing yet.”

While the origin of the metal fragments is unknown, Thanbyuzayat Township residents told IMNA that the pieces are assumed to be from a spacecraft.
