Remaining TPP residents leave for the Thai side

IMNA : The monks at Three Pagoda Pass, who were providing security for the remaining villagers, are unable to provide protection any longer. The remaining villagers have left to the Thai side of the border.

After fighting started up again, about 800 students and residents who were depending on the protection of the Dhamahaywon Monastery on the Burmese side left to the Thai side this morning.

After the houses had been shut and sealed in TPP, soldier’s have been reported punching the doors open and stealing property, said one villager from Taing Tayar Monastery.
